Yellow Book USA and Clarke Directory Publications Join Forces in California.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Yellow Book The standard for the physical format of a CD-ROM disk. The ISO 9660 standard defines the logical format for the disk. See CD. USA announced today that it has acquired the directory publishing business of Clarke Directory Publications, Inc., of Irwindale, California.

The acquisition, which includes the Arcadia, Glendora, Hacienda Heights and Inland directories of Clarke, represents a union of successful companies that are led by two of the strongest voices in the independent yellow pages publishing industry; Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA and James Clarke, Sr., CEO of Clarke Directory Publications.

"Clarke Directory Publications is a highly successful, family-run business that consistently publishes great directories. For generations Yellow Book and Clarke have been committed to providing consumers with high quality yellow pages directories and to giving businesses more competitive and favorable advertising rates than the phone company directories. It's a philosophy that has worked well for both companies," said Mr. Walsh.

"I have great admiration for Joe Walsh and the remarkable organization he has built. I am confident that the tradition of excellence that Clarke has established will be in good hands with Yellow Book. Furthermore, I am pleased that Clarke Directory Publications will be associated with a company that shares the same values," said Mr. Clarke.
