Yarn writing. The Project Language Arts Kids rise to the challenge of cursive writing Handwriting. when they get to do it in living color, with yarn and clear Elmer's School Glue No Run Gel. This fun activity creates desk nameplates for each student and reinforces the fact that cursive words are formed from a single, continuous line. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] How to Make It 1. Supply students with lots of colorful yarn, construction paper, and Elmer's School Glue No Run Gel. 2. Have students practice writing their names in cursive first, in pencil, onto the construction paper. Help them get it right! 3. Next, have students cover their signature carefully with the gel. 4. Now lay the yarn over the gel and press lightly. 5. Creatively decorate nameplates with more yarn, flowers, beans, or buttons. 6. Mount on Elmer's Foam Board for a sturdier sign to last the whole year.
