Yamaha trims stake in motorcycle affiliate.

 OF JAPAN has sold 13.6 million shares in Yamaha Motors Corporation, reducing its stake in the motorcycle motorcycle, motor vehicle whose design is based on the bicycle. In addition, by excluding Yamaha Motors from consolidation under the equity method, Yamaha will be able to eliminate the risk of fluctuations in the performance of Yamaha Motors, which has different core businesses, thus leading to greater transparency of Yamaha's own performance."

Although Yamaha Corporation and Yamaha Motors share the same trademark and have an intertwined corporate history, the two businesses have operated independently for more than 50 years.
