Yamaha ISDN Evaluation Board Will Ship with Telenetworks Software; YM7405B Connects to North American Switches; Board Software To Be Demonstrated at Comdex in Yamaha Booth No. M661.SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1995--Telenetworks and Yamaha Systems Technology, Inc. jointly announce the incorporation of Telenetworks' software in the ISDN ISDN in full Integrated Services Digital Network Digital telecommunications network that operates over standard copper telephone wires or other media. evaluation boards currently shipping from Yamaha. The Telenetworks software enables the Yamaha YM7405B evaluation boards to connect to all North American ISDN switch types. These include AT&T custom and National ISDN-1 as well as Northern Telecom DMS-100. The Yamaha YM7405B ISDN is the first ISDN user-network interface LSI LSI: see integrated circuit. The software needed for call control is some of the most complex in an ISDN setup situation. Here they will find the code written, tested and evaluated against all major North American ISDN switches. "The ability of Yamaha's chip to do Layer 2 LAPD 1. LAPD - Link Access Procedure on the D channel. 2. "This means a powerful ISDN solution can be built with less memory and less software complexity. Solutions using the Yamaha chips can be brought to market quicker and with lower software cost." "We selected Telenetworks for our ISDN evaluation board software because of their reputation as a worldwide provider of reliable ISDN software," said Iraj Zarrinnaal, ISDN product manager. "The Yamaha YM7405B product is in use in ISDN products sold in Europe, Japan and Australia in addition to the U.S. market. Having a software developer who understands the many protocols is important to us and to our customers." Features The YM7405B evaluation board has been developed to examine the functions of the Yamaha Basic Access Interface LSIs. The board can be used in various application modes including confirmation of the LSI functions and development of Layer 3 software. The Telenetworks software is adaptable to almost any ISDN development project. Run-time flags configure the modules to operate with a variety of ISDN switches and switch interfaces. The software modules run under the Telenetworks MTEX MTEX Mega Texel Multi-Tasking Executive as well as most other OS environments. The Yamaha ISDN evaluation board is provided with EPROMs containing the YM7405B device driver software and a floppy disk containing the demonstration and evaluation software in object code. Source code is available under license from Telenetworks. The board connects to a personal computer through an RS232 interface. The 80C188XL on-board processor is socketed so that an In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) can be installed for development of the Layer 3 software. Price and Availability The YM7405B evaluation board is shipping now. The Evaluation Board is available at $500.
