Yahoo! Outloud presented by Doritos, a new 20-date college music tour traveling across the U.S., was announced today by Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company. The inaugural Yahoo!(R) Outloud tour, planned as an integrated on-line/off-line tour, will hit 20 cities surrounding more than 35 college campuses, and features Smash Mouth and Luscious Jackson, as well as a number of emerging bands with a regional fan following. The tour begins Wednesday, February 9 at the Mesa Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Ariz., and concludes March 9, at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre in Florida. Concert-goers with valid student identification pay $10 for tickets purchased at select locations prior to the show date. The Bands

Smash Mouth, nominated for their first Grammy Award in early January, was formed in San Jose, Calif., in 1994 when boyhood friends and former garage band comrades Steve Harwell (vocals) and Kevin Coleman (drums) recruited Greg Camp (guitar) from a local cover band. Camp then persuaded Paul De Lisle, with whom he had played in another band, to take a chance on the new band. After toiling for a couple of years on the San Jose scene, Bay Area radio station KOME started spinning the band's breakthrough song &uot;Nervous in the Alley.&uot; Soon after, in 1997, the band released its first album, Fush Yu Mang, which achieved double platinum status. The band's most recent opus, Astro Lounge, introduced through the song &uot;All Star,&uot; has already RIAA-certified triple platinum. &uot;All Star,&uot; which rocketed up the Modern Rock charts in May 1999 and earned the band its first Grammy Nomination, has been followed by &uot;Then The Morning Comes,&uot; currently No. 6 on the Top 40 charts. The band will be releasing its third single &uot;Waste&uot; from Astro Lounge in late February.

Luscious Jackson, a New York-based and international renowned band, enjoyed almost universal press acclaim in the 1990s with their spacious, bass-driven hip-hop/rock crossover. Members Jill Cunniff (vocals, bass), Gabrielle Glaser (vocals, guitar) and Kate Schellenbach (drums) first met as teenagers on the burgeoning underground music scene of late 1970s/early 1980s downtown New York City, bonding on a mutual appreciation of Bad Brains, the Slits, Afrika Bambaata and ESG. This friendship first bore musical fruit when Jill and Gabby pooled their tip money to create the first Luscious Jackson demo in 1991. The band played its first show later that year, opening for Beastie Boys (for whom Kate had once played drums) and Cypress Hill. In 1992, LJ's demo and three new songs were combined as In Search Of Manny, the first release on Beastie Boys' Grand Royal label. Natural Ingredients followed in 1994, featuring &uot;City Song&uot; and &uot;Here&uot; (the latter chosen as the first single/video from the Clueless soundtrack). In 1996, Luscious released Fever In Fever Out, which attained gold certification off the strength off the &uot;Naked Eye&uot; single and relentless touring. Earlier this year, Luscious Jackson released Electric Honey, the band's most confident and accomplished recording to date.
