Esteemed Festival Jury Announces Top Winners at Yahoo! Internet Life Yahoo! Internet Life was a monthly magazine published by Ziff-Davis, which licensed the name from Yahoo!, a well known search engine website. It was created and launched by Barry Golson, the former executive editor of Playboy and TV guide.

. Beginning today, anyone can view the films and cast their votes at http://movies.yahoo.com/onlinefilmfest. Top voted films in three categories--short live-action, animation and documentary - as judged by the online audience and the Festival's elite jury, will be shown on the big screen during the upcoming YILOFF live event on March 21 & 22, 2001 at Los Angeles' Director's Guild of America (DGA DGA Directors Guild of America (movie directors union)

). The Festival also will award one talented filmmaker with the rare opportunity for a pitch meeting with MGM executives.

Cast Your Vote

Director of Programming, Heather Kellogg, and the Festival screening committee selected the finalist films based on hundreds of submissions. Film finalists will be posted and streamed on Yahoo! Movies beginning February 15 through March 2. Top voted shorts, as selected by the online audience and the Festival's Jury, will be put on the big screen at the DGA during the Festival's live event in Los Angeles. These films, including six Live Action, six Animation and six Documentaries, will be announced on March 12 along with the Festival Overview.

Elite Jury Members

The Festival Jury is responsible for awarding prizes. This group consists of four elite members from the film industry, Spike Decker (Founder Spike & Mike's Festival of Animation), William Gazecki (Documentary Film Director, Oscar-Nominated Waco: The Rules of Engagement), Duncan North (Screenwriter, The Tao of Steve), and Jami Bernard (Film Critic, Daily News).

Pitch Meeting Among Top Festival Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to one Live-Action, one Animation, one Documentary and the Jury's pick for "The Filmmaker of the Future" at the Festival Awards Ceremony on March 22.
