The vignettes will feature elements of both contemporary and traditional designs to show visitors that ``you can combine all these things'' in one room successfully, said Clarke, who heads an interior design firm and store in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. This blending of classic and modern is a common theme in Clarke's designs. He declines to characterize his work as one particular genre - ``I'm all over the place,'' he said but emphasizes that the one thing that always runs through his rooms is that they are accessible, easy and comfortable.

Clarke gets ideas from his extensive travels, but ``my clients are inspiring. I work back from their ideas,'' he says. The result?

``You would have a feeling in the room that you actually (designed) it, but it's 20 times better,'' he said, ``because I can apply all my knowledge. But it still feels like it's yours.''

Clarke won't have an official booth at the show, but that doesn't mean he won't be in attendance.

`'I'll definitely be shopping,'' he said.

The show runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 13. Admission is $10 for the two days.
