A FRESH START: ``Starting Over,'' the one-hour daytime reality series that makes its name reinventing lives, is doing some starting over of its own, with a new season, new location and new twist.

The Emmy-winning series puts six troubled women in a house with two life coaches and a psychiatrist for up to 14 weeks with the aim of giving them a new beginning. For its third season, the show moves the ``Starting Over'' residence from Hollywood Hills The Hollywood Hills, an unofficial designation of part of the City of Los Angeles, California, are part of the eastern section of the low transverse range of the Santa Monica Mountains, which extends from the Los Feliz District and Hollywood, on the south side of the Valley, to  to the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

``Going to a new house gives the show energy for the new season,'' said executive producer and creator Jon Murray.

The Valley locale, which Murray considers the best yet, was chosen for its privacy and relative proximity to shops and neighborhoods, as well as its ``beautiful setting,'' including garden, pool, tennis court and brook.

``This house feels like a place for starting over,'' Murray said. ``It has real warmth and serenity. There's nothing ostentatious os·ten·ta·tious

, nothing cold, nothing impersonal.''

As with Murray's other creations, such as MTV's ``The Real World,'' visual design plays an important role. But he says the ``Starting Over'' residence is ``less hip, more comfortable'' than its cable counterpart.

``It's really important that the home not only be appealing to viewers (but also have) an atmosphere that supports the women in making these changes.'' Designers worked with Ethan Allen and other companies to create a warm living space, and the house features artwork by Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  female artists, including Alisa Gabrielle of Woodland Hills and Barbara Wood Barbara Wood (b.  of Westlake Village, that Murray calls ``uplifting and optimistic.''

The new season begins with a twist, inviting four couples into the house for a three-week ``relationship boot camp'' before resuming its usual format. Murray believes this will let female viewers ``see a side of men they normally don't get to see.''
