October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and companies nationwide are raising awareness Raising awareness is a common phrase advocacy groups use to justify a particular event, brochure or even the entire organization. Raising awareness refers to alerting the general public that a certain issue exists and should be approached the way the group desires.  and research funds by selling pink-hued products. You can help fight the disease by making pink part of your home with the following items:

HOT LIGHTS: Light up your life with this set of three candleholders. Each holder has a pink wax candle inside and is striped in hot pink and pale pink. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Target is featuring an exclusive line of all things pink, with 100 percent of the profits benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Pink Glass Candleholders are $12.99 and available at Target.

COLOR FOR CONTERTOPS: As part of the Cook for the Cure campaign, KitchenAid has created the pink KitchenAid Blender, Coffee Mill, Tea Kettle and Stand Mixer, with donations of $5 to $50 benefiting the Susan G. PICK A PLANT: The California Native Plant Society The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is a California not-for-profit organization that seeks to increase understanding of California's native flora and to preserve that flora.
