Lovers' holiday celebrated on February 14, the feast day of St. Valentine, one of two 3rd-century Roman martyrs of the same name. St.
 gift? Buy her something she will treasure for years. In addition to fine jewelry, there are many fine vases and other home accents. Christofle's Amour silver vase ($75) is about the height of a tumbler, perfect for flower bunches from her garden. BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Nearly 12 acres of camellias are blooming in the Japanese Garden Japanese gardens (Kanji 日本庭園, nihon teien), that is, gardens in traditional Japanese style, can be found at private homes, in neighborhood or city parks, at Buddhist temples or Shinto shrines, and at historical landmarks such as old castles.  and North Vista areas at Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens A botanical garden is a place where plants, especially ferns, conifers and flowering plants, are grown and displayed for the purposes of research, conservation, and education. . And this weekend they're joined by more than a thousand additional camellias for an annual show co-sponsored by the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Camellia camellia (kəmēl`yə) [for G. J. Kamel, a Moravian Jesuit missionary], any plant of the genus Camellia in the tea family, evergreen shrubs or small trees native to Asia but now cultivated extensively in warm climates and in  Society. Participants from around the Southland will display their prize-winning flowers in different categories. Camellias also will be for sale and experts will be on hand to answer questions. The show is today from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Huntington is located at 1151 Oxford Road in San Marino. Admission is $7 to $10 general, free for children under 12.
