YOUNG AUTHORS BOUND FOR THE LIBRARY.

The works of more than 100 young authors were celebrated by the Sulphur Springs School District The Sulphur Springs School District is a school district in the Santa Clarita Valley that serves portions of the Canyon Country and Newhall communities within the city of Santa Clarita, California. As of March 26, 2006, it has 8 elementary schools.  at the annual Young Authors Conferences held June 1 and 3.

The conferences recognized the original stories created by students ranging in age from 8 to 12. Their works were selected from every school in the district to be published, bound and placed in each school's library.

Students from Leona Cox, Mint Canyon, Mitchell, Pinetree and Sulphur Springs Sulphur Springs, city (1990 pop. 14,062), seat of Hopkins co., NE Tex., in a farm area; inc. 1859. Vegetables, wheat, rice, and corn are grown, and livestock and dairying are important. There is clay and timber in the area.  participated in the June 1 conference, and students from Canyon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch Fair Oaks Ranch may be:
  • Fair Oaks Ranch, California
  • Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas
  • Fair Oaks Ranch, a neighborhood of Pasadena California
 and Valley View participated June 3.

The best writing from entries from each of the schools was selected by a group of teachers and administrators for this honor. One copy of the published and bound student-authored book will be given to each of the young authors, and another will be placed in the school library for circulation among that school's students.

Each conference began with a presentation applauding the young authors for their hard work and creativity. Following the presentations, each author read a portion of his or her book to the audience.

After the readings, each author designed a bookplate bookplate, label pasted in a book to indicate ownership, also called ex libris [Lat.,=from the books of]. The bookplate is usually of paper on which heraldic or other designs are engraved or printed.
