WE would like to give a big thanks to Dave at Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre for his help over the last few days. He helped us in an emergency when our cat came home with a serious injury on Sunday. If it wasn't for his help and advice we wouldn't have our cat today.

THE paparazzi who followed Prince Charles up to Carlisle, merely to ask him about Prince Harry, shot themselves in the foot this time.

Prince Charles was concerned about those poor people who had lost everything, only to be asked about an incident so trivial as that it really put them in their true light.

IN response to the letter sent in by Deborah Copeland from TV licensing (ECHO letters, January 18). I would like to make it clear that I DO have a TV licence.

Whatever way you try to spice up what the TV licence is for, it's a rip-off and should be scrapped.

HOW sad Liverpool has a planning department so naive and backward-thinking.

It's no wonder young intelligent people are leaving this place in droves. All we have is cobwebs and no future.

WHAT a wonderful idea Liverpool city council has come up with, to help victims of the tsunami (Liverpool will twin with tsunami town, ECHO Jan 13), for everyone in Merseyside to give 50p a week for the next five years to help a Sri Lankan port.

I'M just writing to say thank you to the people at Above Zero skating rink, on the prom at Southport. Last week I took my four-year-old and was impressed by the friendly and helpful staff, one of which even did my boots up for me. We had a great time.
