YORK INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES SALE OF SENIOR NOTES

 YORK, Pa., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- York International Corporation (NYSE: YRK) announced that it completed its underwritten public offering of $100 million principal amount of senior notes due 2003.
 The senior notes were sold at 99.97 percent of par and bear interest at the rate of 6.75 percent per annum, resulting in a yield to maturity of 6.754 percent. Interest is payable semi-annually on March 1 and Sept. 1 of each year. The proceeds of the offering will be used to repay outstanding indebtedness under the company's revolving credit facility. The offering was underwritten by Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. and J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. The senior notes are rated Baa2 by Moody's Investors Service and BBB by Standard & Poor's Ratings Group.
 York International Corporation is a full-line, global manufacturer of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products.
