YOKOHAMA ANNOUNCES NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM

 YOKOHAMA ANNOUNCES NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM
FULLERTON, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Yokohama Tire Corp.

(YTC) announced today the executive management structure of its newly formed U.S. sales, service, manufacturing and research and development organization.
The new positions will take effect July 1, 1992, when YTC's parent company, Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., officially merges its U.S. manufacturing and sales arm, Mohawk Rubber Co. (MRC) and its U.S. sales subsidiary, Yokohama Tire Corp.
"We are confident that this new management team will provide strong leadership in developing a solid foundation for the new organization," said Yoshimichi Hanabusa, YTC president and chief executive officer. "This team combines the strengths of both organizations, and will help YTC effectively respond to specific American market conditions."
The executive management sales and marketing team includes: Koin (Ken) Suzuki, executive vice president, sales and marketing; James MacMaster, vice president, replacement sales; Russell Mulvey, vice president, mass merchandiser sales; and Jeff Carpenter, director of marketing.
The operations group is headed up by Akira (Jack) Kakutani, executive vice president, operations. Steve Kessing will serve as vice president, human resources.
The Yokohama production team will be led by Hiromitsu Akashi, executive vice president, production; Richard Switzer, vice president, manufacturing, Salem Plant; and T.J. Brown, director, technology.
While Yokohama Tire Corp. will be headquartered in Fullerton, the company will maintain a branch office in Akron, Ohio. All other existing YTC offices and Mohawk production facilities will be unaffected by the merger.
Production from the Yokohama facility in Salem, Va., combined with sourcing from Yokohama's involvement in the GTY plant in Mt. Vernon, Ill., will supply YTC customers with a diverse range of high quality, U.S.-produced passenger, truck and bus tires, and underscores the Yokohama globalization philosophy of local manufacturing.
