Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  after averaging a career-high 23.9 points for the Lakers and leading the league with 12.2 assists.

May 21, 1988: The Clippers win the NBA draft lottery The NBA Draft Lottery is an annual event held by the National Basketball Association (NBA) to determine the order of the NBA Draft for that year. The teams that did not make the playoffs compete in a weighted lottery, in which teams with least amount of wins have a greater chance  and five weeks later use it to pick Danny Manning out of Kansas. He would go down with a knee injury 26 games into the season.

May 22, 1968: The Dodgers' Don Drysdale outduels the Cardinals' Bob Gibson 2-0 at Busch Stadium for his third straight shutout en route to his record 58-2/3 scoreless innings.

May 22, 1989: Magic Johnson, who leads the Lakers to their eighth consecutive division title, earns his second regular-season MVP award, edging Michael Jordan of Chicago in the closest voting since 1981.

May 22, 1990: Magic Johnson, who leads the Lakers to a 63-19 record, is named regular-season MVP for the second straight year. He's also the sixth player in NBA NBA
