YEMEN - The Refining Sector Has New Projects:.The oil refining refining, any of various processes for separating impurities from crude or semifinished materials. The government is supporting these projects and wants Yemen to become an important exporter of refined petroleum products. The country at present has two refineries, at Aden and at Maarib, with a combined operating capacity of 105,000 b/d. Four New Projects: There are two different refining projects proposed to be built at Ras Issa terminal, near the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah. The terminal handles the export of crude oil coming by pipeline from Maarib oilfields operated by Hunt Oil Co. of the US (see Gas Market Trends). There are also two different projects for export refineries to be built at the port city of Mukalla in Hadhramout. |
