:YARC) today released its Macintosh based Xtreme(TM) Postscript RIP for Epson Stylus Pro 3000 desktop printers, placing a copy of the RIP software for free download from its internet website, www.yarc.com.

The download is a fully functional ColorSync Postscript RIP. It has not been not crippled prior to web distribution. It allows potential customers to evaluate the Xtreme.

In photographically generated halftones, a camera shoots the image through a halftone screen, creating smaller dots for lighter areas and  proofs to simulate Match-Prints(TM) and Cromalins(TM). YARC is the first company to embrace the Open Distribution of postscript RIP software. While its competitors mostly licence their postscript interpreter software from Adobe Systems Inc., (Nasdaq: ADBE ADBE Adobe Systems, Inc. (stock symbol) ), YARC has developed its own proprietary software code, compliant with Adobe's postscript specification, but unfettered by licensing restrictions.
