Xylan joins TEMPO project.

CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1996--Xylan joins TEMPO project -- The Defense Telecommunications Service - Washington Telecommunications Modernization Project, or TEMPO, is a contract available to all of the Department of Defense agencies in the national capital region enabling them to procure a wide variety of services and equipment.

The contract is written for indefinite delivery with indefinite quantity.

Single point-of-contact, through the TEMPO System Management Center, makes ordering and repair procedures easy. Data networking equipment will be available from more than 70 vendors, now including Xylan. The TEMPO Solution Center functions as the demonstration center and technology laboratory for all products and services.

With headquarters in Calabasas, Xylan Corp. is a leading provider of high-bandwidth switching systems that enhance the performance of existing local area networks and facilitate migration to next generation networking technologies such as ATM.
