Xonics automated water capillary flow permeability analyzer: POROMETER [3.sup.G].

The POROMETER [3.sup.G] capillary capillary (kăp`əlĕr'ē), microscopic blood vessel, smallest unit of the circulatory system. Capillaries form a network of tiny tubes throughout the body, connecting arterioles (smallest arteries) and venules (smallest veins).  flow permeability permeability /per·me·a·bil·i·ty/ (per?me-ah-bil´i-te) the property or state of being permeable.

per·me·a·bil·i·ty
n.
1. The property or condition of being permeable.

2.
analyzer is a compact, bench-top instrument that measures through pores in membranes, filters, paper, plastics, ceramics, sintered sin·ter
n.
1. Geology A chemical sediment or crust, as of porous silica, deposited by a mineral spring.

2. A mass formed by sintering.

and woven metals and other porous media. The measurable pore pore (por) a small opening or empty space.

alveolar pores  openings between adjacent pulmonary alveoli that permit passage of air from one to another.
range is from 0.05[micro]m to 500[micro]m equivalent diameter. The POROMETER [3.sup.G] employs a liquid displacement method of pore size analysis, which is a standard in many industries and has proven to be an advantageous, inert, solution over hazardous techniques such as mercury porosimetry.
