The Xirrus Arrays created a high performance Wi-Fi network and significantly reduced the amount of equipment and costly installation expenses often associated with deploying large Wi-Fi networks. The entire Xirrus deployment required only eight Wi-Fi Arrays where the nearest competitive bid required more than 70 access points to provide similar coverage and bandwidth. The resulting reduction in the number of cable drops, switch ports and the associated time and expense of the actual installation was critical in the decision-making process for Pierce Transit.
