Xinhua Finance purchases Washington Analysis LLC.

Xinhua Finance (Hing Kong), a provider of financial services and media company in China, has acquired Washington Analysis, LLC (Washington, D.C.), an economic and political advisory firm with more than 100 top institutional clients. No terms of the deal were given.

Established in 1973, Washington Analysis provides analysis and commentary on political, legislative and regulatory issues that impact equity and debt markets, including sectors such as health care, telecom and media, financial services and defense. Major clients include Fidelity, JP Morgan Investment, Merrill Lynch Asset Management and UBS Brinson. Services offered include research reports, seminars and conferences with legislators and regulators. The company is profitable, Xinhua said.

The acquired company will become a part of Xinhua's G7 Group. Xinhua Finance ceo Fredy Bush said that Washington Analysis "is looking at government policy and how it impacts the markets from a more micro economic perspective. Clients are looking for analysis on how government policy impacts individual listed companies and therefore, their investment in those companies. G7 provides the first part of that information while Washington Analysis covers both micro and macro."
