Xicor(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: XICO), a leading supplier of programmable mixed-signal integrated circuits, today announced 8 new products, X40010, X40011, X40014, X40015, X40410, X40411, X40414 and X40415, expanding the family of advanced dual voltage supervisory products that integrate power-on-reset, watchdog timer and two low voltage sense monitors on a single device. The Dual Supervisor family includes additional feature options such as 1% accurate voltage monitors, two separate reset outputs and a fault detection register, that enables improved overall system reliability and performance. These products are ideal for advanced computing and communication applications, audio and video systems, industrial controls and portable instrumentation that typically operate on multiple supply voltages, including a processor core voltage as low as 1V.

X40010, X40011, X40014, X40015, X40410, X40411, X40414 and X40415 -Dual Supervisors Technical Features:
The dual supervisors provide the user with the flexibility to select the low voltage reset trip points for the independent low voltage monitors contained in each device, which are independently programmable from 0.9 to 4.75 volts. With threshold voltages as low as 0.9V, these devices can monitor the latest high performance processor core voltages, which can be as low as 1V. These supervisors are ideal for systems that contain CPUs, DSPs, RISC processors and embedded controllers from Intel, AMD, TI, Motorola and other major suppliers. Besides monitoring the processor and controller supplies, these supervisors can monitor voltage references and sources for GTL+, SSTL-2V, SSTL-1V, DDR-SDRAM, Rambus and other bus termination voltages as low as 0.9V.
The dual supervisors feature user-programmable Power On Reset times of 50ms, 200ms, 400ms or 800ms. All products provide watchdog time-out selection intervals of 25ms, 200ms and 1.4 seconds. These functions provide system designers with the adequate flexibility to tailor device parameters to meet their exact system requirements. Each voltage monitor has an independent flag signal, and a fault detection register that reports the failure of either voltage or the occurrence of a watchdog time-out or manual reset. This fault monitoring can be very important for remote tracking system reliability and establishing more reliable and flexible reset recovery mechanisms.
The 4k EEPROM memory is integrated in the X40410, X40411, X40414, and X40415. These products include Xicor's Block Lock(TM) feature, which provides memory protection and security. All products communicate through the industry standard 400 KHz two-wire serial interface. The dual supervisors are available in 8-pin SOIC or 8-pin TSSOP.
