Xerox DocuMate 152 Scanner Receives Editors' Choice Award From PC Magazine.

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- The Xerox(R) DocuMate(TM) 152 duplex scanner has received the prestigious Editors' Choice Award from PC Magazine and was given a rating of 4 1/2 out of 5. Similar in appearance to the Xerox DocuMate 262 scanner, which won PC Magazine's Editor's Choice Award last year, the DocuMate 152 is the newest addition to the Xerox DocuMate product line and is designed to address the needs of the desktop document capture market.

The PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award is given to the products and services that stand out from others in their category. The Xerox DocuMate 152 earned the award in the scanner category for its "combination of relatively fast hardware and an extremely useful selection of software." In the review, published on July 21, PC Magazine's lead analyst for printers and scanners, M. David Stone, said, "Document scanners like the DocuMate 152 are small enough to fit easily on a desktop and fast enough for a small office to use them for document management as well. But most scanners in this group don't come with the software you need. And it's on the software side of the package that this scanner shines."

Priced at $595, the Xerox DocuMate 152 scans at 30 ipm and comes with Visioneer OneTouch(TM), ScanSoft PaperPort, ScanSoft OmniPage and X1 software. It is currently shipping in the United States through distributors such as D&H, Ingram Micro, NewWave, Tech Data, solution providers and online retailers.
