Xelor Software CTO to Present Paper on Internet Transfer Capabilities for Time Critical Communications at IEEE Tencon '05.

SALEM, N.H. -- Xelor Software(TM) today announced that John Siliquini, chief technology officer, will present a paper entitled "Internet Transfer Capabilities for Time Critical Communications" at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields.  Tencon '05 conference held between November 22 and 24 in Melbourne, Australia. The international conference, with its theme of "a meeting place for converging technologies and people," brings together leading researchers from a broad range of emerging technologies.

The paper, co-written with Zigmantas Budrikis of the Western Australian Telecommunications Research Institute (WATRI WATRI Western Australian Telecommunications Research Institute (Curtin University of Technology and the University of Western Australia) ) and the University of Western Australia (UWA UWA University of Western Australia

, describes the practical methods required for controlling IP network traffic to deliver time-critical communications, such as telephony, voice and video conferencing.

The authors focus on techniques for achieving predictable Quality of Service (QoS) and delivering high-quality realtime communications over the IP network. The paper summarizes the theoretical basis for Xelor Software's family of service quality management (SQM SQM Square Meters

The term is used in several ways, but it always refers to some offset of time and space from the norm. For example, in a network transmission, jitter would be a bit arriving either ahead or behind a standard clock cycle , latency and bandwidth competition.

With a distinguished technical career that includes five pending patents, more than 40 journal articles, and a Ph.D. from the University of Western Australia, Siliquini was a co-founder of Cortec Systems, the predecessor to Xelor Software. He was instrumental in developing the XelorRate(TM) family of SQM software solutions for ensuring the reliability, performance and quality of enterprise IP telephony systems.

Prior to founding Cortec in September 2002, Siliquini served as a principal research fellow at the University of Western Australia, where he worked on joint networking projects with the Australian Telecommunications Cooperative Research Centre Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) are key bodies for Australian scientific research. The Cooperative Research Centres Programme was established in 1990 to enhance Australia's industrial, commercial and economic growth through the development of sustained, user-driven, cooperative , including helping to define the QoS architecture for ATM. In addition to his role at Xelor, Siliquini is an adjunct associate professor of electrical, electronic and computer engineering at the University of Western Australia.
