Xanser's Xtria Announces Appointment of Ron Castleman to Leadership Team as Senior Vice President for Government Relations.

DALLAS -- Seasoned Executive Brings Experience from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to Xtria's Federal and State Government Operations

Xtria LLC, a leading provider of information solutions and services, today announced that Ron Castleman has joined Xtria's leadership team as senior vice president for government relations. Castleman will be responsible for furthering relations with federal and state government agencies that conduct business with Xtria, and will represent the company on advisory, legislative and industry steering groups. Castleman has more than 25 years experience in the government and technology sectors. Prior to joining Xtria, Castleman served as a senior executive with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in the Department of Homeland Security. In January 2003, President George W. Bush appointed him FEMA's chief operating officer. He was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the agency, which included oversight of response, recovery, preparedness and national security coordination activities for the United States and its territories. Castleman served as the head of the U.S. Civil Emergency Planning Delegation to NATO, addressing the allied nations at the NATO Council, and was a lead federal official for the Columbia Space Shuttle tragedy during the initial days following the incident.

Castleman's first presidential appointment was announced in June 2001 when he was named regional director for FEMA. With responsibility for FEMA mitigation, preparedness and disaster response in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, Castleman was responsible for managing one of the largest Presidential disaster declarations in the nation's history: the devastation resulting from Tropical Storm Allison.

Castleman's prior experience includes executive level positions in operations, administration and human resources at Amresco, Inc., Computer Language Research, Coopers & Lybrand, Communications Corporation of America and American Airlines.
