XTF Names Gerald Buetow, Jr. Chief Investment Officer; Quantitative Modeling Expert and Former Prudential Fund Manager to Manage Firm's Exchange-Traded Fund-Based Investment Strategy.

NEW YORK -- XTF, an investment company specializing in building, managing and trading diversified exchange traded funds-based portfolios, has named Gerald (Jeff) Buetow, Jr., its chief investment officer. An expert in investment quantitative analysis and an experienced analyst and portfolio manager, Buetow will direct XTF's investment strategies.

"Jeff has built an excellent track record of managing assets across a wide range of investment strategies and styles," said Michael Woods, chief executive officer of XTF. Buetow's career spans more than 15 years in both the private and academic sectors. Prior to joining XTF, he had been director of research at Atlantic Asset Management in Stamford, Conn., and vice president of curriculum development at the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia. Concurrently, he was President and Founder of BFRC Services, LLC a quantitative financial consulting firm in Charlottesville, VA.

Earlier, Buetow was Wheat First Professor of Quantitative Finance at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., where he was also the Director of the Quantitative Finance program. He was also director of quantitative research at Prudential Investments in Short Hills, N.J., where he successfully managed an enhanced index fund using sophisticated algorithms. Buetow also created various derivative based structured products during his tenure at Prudential.

Buetow holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, an M.S. in economics, and a Ph. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and has written books and several articles in journals such as the Journal of Fixed Income, the Journal of Financial Engineering, and the Journal of Portfolio Management.
