XSCRIBE ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF NEW SUBSIDIARY, U.S. CAPTIONING INC.
 SAN DIEGO, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Xscribe Corp. (NASDAQ: XSCR) announced today the formation of a new subsidiary, U.S. Captioning Inc., for the purpose of marketing Xscribe's captioning technology and related services for the hearing impaired.
 Suren G. Dutia, chairman of the board of Xscribe Corp., also announced the appointment of Peter L. Jepsen as vice president and director of U.S. Captioning Inc. Dutia stated, "Peter is widely recognized as a pioneer in realtime transcription and captioning. We are extremely pleased and honored to work with Peter in this key position. With Peter's expertise and leadership abilities, we hope to realize the potential of our most widely used and state-of-the-art captioning technology and meet our strong and continuing commitment to help improve the quality of life for hearing-impaired persons."
 Jepsen was recently associated with the United States Senate where he was instrumental in organizing and setting up the Office of Captioning Services which is responsible for the closed captioning of Senate Chamber Proceedings for broadcast on C-SPAN 2. Previously, Jepsen was Xscribe's director of Captioning Products, selling the first PC-based realtime captioning systems to the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) and training the BBC personnel involved in closed captioning of their evening news. Jepsen has served on the Computer-Aided Realtime Translation Committee of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), and over the years has captioned local and national newscasts, political debates, city council meetings, Papal visits to North America, numerous hours of television specials, conventions and meetings, and has conducted realtime demonstrations in a number of foreign countries as well as for the United States Senate and House of Representatives.
 Xscribe Corp. designs and markets high-technology software and hardware products for legal professionals, including computer-aided transcription systems for court reporters and realtime captioning systems for the hearing impaired. Xscribe's wholly owned subsidiary, U.S. Micro-Imaging Inc., provides micrographic services to a wide range of customers, including attorneys and financial institutions.
