 XEROX NAMES VITTORIO CASSONI AN EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT,
 MEMBER OF CORPORATE OFFICE
 STAMFORD, Conn., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Vittorio Cassoni, who has held executive positions at Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A., AT&T and International Business Machines Company (NYSE: XRX), has been elected an executive vice president, operations, of Xerox Corporation.
 Cassoni, 49, also becomes one of the members of a newly-formed, six- person Xerox corporate office, which is responsible for the leadership of the corporation.
 In this post, he joins Paul A. Allaire, chairman and chief executive officer, two other operations executive vice presidents, Wayland R. Hicks and A. Barry Rand, and two senior vice presidents, Allan E. Dugan, corporate strategic services, and Mark B. Myers, corporate research and technology.
 Company units reporting directly to Cassoni are United States Customer Operations and four document processing business divisions, Office Document Products, Office Document Systems, X-Soft and Advanced Office Document Services.
 Cassoni was managing director of Olivetti Group, which makes and markets computer and office systems, from 1988 until March 31, 1992, with headquarters in Ivrea, Italy.
 From 1986 to 1988, Cassoni was president of AT&T's Data Systems Group in Morristown, N.J.
 Previously, Cassoni was with Olivetti from 1980 to 1986 in a variety of executive positions, including president of Olivetti Management of America in New York City, and vice president of corporate marketing and general manager of foreign subsidiaries, both with headquarters in Italy.
 Before joining Olivetti, Cassoni spent 13 years with IBM in general management, marketing, product management, planning and engineering positions in Italy, Belgium, France and the United States.
 The new Xerox officer, who is fluent in English, Italian and French, was born in Parma, Italy. He holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico, Milan, Italy. He is married and has two children. He will be moving from his current home in Milan to the Stamford area.
