XEROX BOARD ELECTS TWO NEW OFFICERS

 CHICAGO, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Xerox Corporation's (NYSE: XRX) board of directors today elected two executives to the additional position of corporate vice president: John A. Lopiano, president of the company's Printing Systems division, and Brian E. Stern, head of corporate business strategy.
 Lopiano and Stern will continue their current responsibilities and, with the additional title of corporate vice president, become officers of the company.
 Lopiano, 54, joined Xerox in 1990 after 25 years with International Business Machines Corporation. During his first year, he served as acting manager and then program director, image strategy, in the Development and Manufacturing strategy office. He became vice president, printing systems marketing in 1991 and was named president of the new Printing Systems division in 1992 when the company's document processing structure was reorganized. His division is based in El Segundo, Calif.
 Stern, 45, joined Xerox in 1969 as a salesman for Rank Xerox Limited in London and has held various management positions in business and financial planning in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 1988, he was named director of finance, European manufacturing operations with Rank Xerox and, in 1990, became vice president, finance, Development and Manufacturing at Xerox offices in Rochester, N.Y. In 1992, he was named director, corporate business strategy at Xerox headquarters in Stamford, Conn.
 Between 1974 and 1978, Stern earned a master's of business administration from Harvard and pursued other interests before returning to Xerox.
 Both assignments are effective immediately.
