 XEROX BOARD APPROVES TWO KEY APPOINTMENTS
 STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Xerox Corporation's board


of directors today approved two key appointments: Anne M. Mulcahy as vice president, human resources, and Richard S. Paul as senior vice president and general counsel. Both are effective immediately.
 Mulcahy, who had been director, corporate human resources, was also elected an officer of the corporation. Paul, whose title had been vice president and general counsel, has been a corporate officer since 1989.
 Mulcahy, 39, joined Xerox in 1976 as a sales representative in Boston and later held several sales management positions in the Northeast, including vice president, worldwide marketing operations planning. In 1991, she was named director, corporate human resources. Prior to Xerox, she worked in employee relations for Chase Manhattan Bank.
 Paul, 51, also joined Xerox in 1976, starting out as a senior attorney in Rochester, N.Y. He became counsel for Rochester-based operations in 1979 and an associate general counsel at corporate headquarters in Stamford in 1980. He was elected a vice president and named general counsel in 1989. Before joining Xerox, Paul worked as a lawyer for E.I. duPont de Nemours and Company in Wilmington, Del., from 1971 to 1976, and for the law firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell before that.
 Mulcahy is a 1974 graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y., and lives in Fairfield, Conn.
 Paul received a bachelor's degree from the University of Montana in 1963, a master's from the University of Minnesota in 1964 and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969. He also lives in Fairfield.
