The MEMS acronym stands for Micro-Electromechanical System and is used to refer to components of which sub-millimeter-sized parts need to move for the components to have electronic functionality.
Relay product. XCOM and IMT have implemented an effective wafer manufacturing process to produce RF relay die with exceptional performance, reliability, and environmental ruggedness. XCOM is now sampling their RF MEMS Relay product for size-constrained and performance-critical applications in Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF test equipment, civilian radios, and military radios.

"As an emerging supplier of RF MEMS products, XCOM is not only committed to delivering compelling performance and features to the market," said Dr. Dan Hyman, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of XCOM, "we are supplying qualified products to support the continued growth of ATE and RF test equipment. These lay a foundation for our future products, which will revolutionize radio architectures in high-end antenna applications and multi-mode, multi-standard consumer handsets. Thanks to IMT, we have consistently delivered samples to our customers that have demonstrated excellent repeatability, high bandwidth, and strong performance. As we move to production, we are confident that IMT will continue to be a great manufacturing partner and will assure the highest levels of quality and support."

Dr. John Foster, IMT's CEO, added, "We are excited about XCOM products and believe they will generate substantial growth to our manufacturing revenue as we enter production. XCOM's decision to choose IMT is not only an affirmation of our capabilities but also recognition of the high level of dedication IMT has devoted to XCOM to bring their compelling products to market. IMT partnered with XCOM to solve their problems and overcome the challenges in taking their design from development and prototyping and begin volume production."

About RF MEMS Relays

High performance, small footprint, and rugged packaging makes XCOM's RF MEMS Relays ideal for a diverse set of applications where low loss, high isolation, and high bandwidth are required. XCOM's relay incorporates the high performance benefits of a metal-to-metal contact, similar to conventional mechanical relays, while providing the miniature, surface-mount footprint of a solid-state relay. Applications include switching and signal routing in ATE and RF test equipment; and tunable filters, antennas, and matching networks for civilian and military radios and radar systems.
