XBRL INITIATIVE SEEKS COMMENTS.
XBRL.org has prepared enhancements to its current specification, XBRL for Financial Statements, for public comment. The enhanced version of XBRL is designed to harmonize with the new World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) XML Schema The definition of an XML document, which includes the XML tags and their interrelationships. Residing within the document itself, an XML schema may be used to verify the integrity of the content. Various recommendations for an XML schema were submitted to the W3C, and a standard was approved in May 2001 that included the ability to define data by type (date, integer, etc.). See W3C XML Schema, RELAX NG, Schematron, SOX, XDR, DCD, XML-Data, DDML and XML vocabulary. to better align itself with initiatives of the W3C and other XML organizations for global use.
