Release 3.0 is now available and includes advanced features for data transformation, information security and simplified access to enterprise applications such as Siebel and SAP.

Data Transformation and Manipulation

XA-Suite Release 3.0 includes new features for streaming large XML documents, XML to XML mapping to simplify schema transformation, functoids for flexible data manipulation and business rules, and increased support for stored procedures with relational databases. Other features are included.

-- The streaming XML feature dramatically improves response time

through more efficient memory management, which allows

XA-Suite to process or produce very large XML documents for

advanced XML deployments.

-- XML to XML mapping provides a drag-and-drop feature that

simplifies mapping of data elements and attributes from one

schema to another. Quite often, industry standard schemas such

as RIXML, MDDL, or JusticeXML need to be mapped to internal

schemas to facilitate information exchange between parties or

applications.

-- Functoids are built-in, reusable functions that operate on

data elements in real time to provide complex manipulations

such as arithmetic operations, format transformations and

aggregation functions such as subtotaling and totaling.

Customers are demanding more powerful operators that turn data

into information as resources are aggregated from distributed

data sources.

-- Stored Procedure Support for Oracle provides wizard-based

support to leverage existing SQL stored procedures within the

XA-Suite designer environment.

Information and Application Security

As information sharing increases across traditional application and database boundaries, information security requirements need to be preserved. XA-Suite release 3.0 enhances security by providing authorization and authentication capabilities within typical customer application server environments. XAware's security model conforms to JAAS (Java Authentication and Authorization Service) specifications, to provide a consistent J2EE based security framework. Additional security features include:

-- XML views that can be enabled for a specified role or set of

roles. Roles are managed via access control lists for users

and groups maintained by application servers.

-- Security features in the Application Server Administration

Console so administrators can configure access privileges,

stored queries, data sources, the server repository, and other

standard security administrative tasks.

-- Integration with LDAP, Registry and single-sign on frameworks.

Simplified Access to Enterprise Applications

Enterprise and packaged software continues to gain momentum and XA-Suite release 3.0 improves the access to SAP and Siebel application data through the use of easy-to-use configuration wizards. This provides drag-and-drop integration with SAP and Siebel to enable these applications to be integrated with any XML standard. Once XA-Suite wizards establish access, XAware software provides full bi-directional connectivity to SAP and Siebel systems. These wizards build on the existing XAware connectivity features that include support for hundreds of application and data sources including ERP, CRM, SCM, mainframe, database, client/server and Web Services based information.

This feature supports customers that are building a real-time enterprise with a single view of customers, orders, services, or inventory across distributed information silos, a common problem in many companies. Also included in release 3.0 is full support for the Remote Method Invocation (RMI) Java standard. The XA-Suite RMI wizard provides next generation RPC support for distributed objects using Java to access existing and legacy systems.
