XANTE introduces X-ACT, new patent pending Accurate Calibration Technology.

MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1996--XANTE Corporation today introduces X-ACT(TM), XANTE's Accurate Calibration Technology.

This latest innovation allows users to easily calibrate the laser printer's engine to be accurate to within one dot. This patent pending technology provides precision that never before has been possible on high resolution laser printers.

X-ACT represents a major breakthrough in laser printer design, providing an easy, convenient way to calibrate and re-calibrate the printer's engine to within the width of a single dot."

XANTE's Accurate Calibration Technology gives the user precise independent control over both horizontal and vertical dimensions on page images ensuring total output accuracy. The printer can be calibrated for different media types in order to compensate for shrinkage or expansion, such as is found with polyester-based materials. It is also helpful when printing on multiple units to know that each printer will have the same calibration. Although every printer with this feature will be calibrated by XANTE, the user may easily re-calibrate the printer to correct changes from normal mechanical wear on the printer.

This technology is currently standard on XANTE's new Accel-a-Writer 8300 and soon will be standard on XANTE's entire laser printer line. Customers who already own a XANTE Accel-a-Writer 8200, Accel-a-Writer 8100A, Accel-a-Writer 812, PlateMaker 8200, or LaserPress 1800 also will have an option to upgrade their printer with this new technology.
