Under the terms of the agreement, Comptel will integrate XACCTusage(TM) with its Mediation Device Solutions (MDS) to provide complete GSM/GPRS and IP mediation solutions to wireless operators worldwide for Internet, voice, and data markets.

As value-added enhanced services emerge on the GPRS-based wireless networks with &uot;always on&uot; Internet access, the current flat-fee pricing models used for basic data services need major overhaul. Service Providers are realizing that they must design and execute flexible pricing models for these services based on a variety of parameters beyond simple &uot;time on line.&uot;

The integration of XACCTusage(TM) and Comptel's MDS mediation software will enable wireless operators to create flexible, usage-based pricing models for voice/video/data services on GSM/GPRS networks. Comptel's MDS for GPRS mediation software aggregates, validates and converts the usage data from XACCTusage(TM) solution and GPRS networks to refine this data suitable for billing systems.

Business Infrastructure for the Converged Networks

XACCT's award-winning flagship product XACCTusage(TM) solution provides a single point of interface between the Business/Operations Support Systems (OSS/BSS), such as Customer Care and Billing and the network infrastructure, for usage data collection, automated user account provisioning, and pre-payment processing.
