X-FAB to Present Free ''Lunch & Learn'' Technical Seminar.

X-FAB X-FAB is a European headquartered foundry group that specializes in the fabrication of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for fabless semiconductor companies. X-FAB has five main manufacturing sites, in Germany, Malaysia, the UK, and the USA.  Semiconductor Foundries:
WHO: X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries, a leading analog/mixed-signal
semiconductor foundry manufacturing silicon wafers for analog-
digital integrated circuits (mixed-signal ICs) on customer
order. The company maintains wafer production facilities in
Erfurt (Germany), Plymouth (UK) and Lubbock, Texas (US), and
employs approximately 1,100 people worldwide. It manufactures
wafers based on ultra-modern modular CMOS and BiCMOS processes
with technologies ranging from 1.0 down to 0.35 micron. Main
application areas include the automotive, communications,
        consumer and industrial sectors.

WHAT: X-FAB's informative, free seminar will explore how to make use
of unprecedented circuit design possibilities in mixed-signal
CMOS technologies, and how process control monitoring ensures
consistent quality. A presentation by Alexander Hoelke, Ph.D.,
Intelligent solutions for complex mixed-signal designs using
X-FAB's new modular trench-isolated 0.6 micrometer SOI CMOS
technology, highlights the advantages of X-FAB's latest
process technology with dielectric isolation for unrestricted
low- and high-side operations of all devices up to 60 V. It
explores reduced parasitics, small crosstalk and improved
electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC), and examines innovative
circuit solutions such as CMOS integrated diodes in forward
and reverse operation mode. A presentation by Steffen Richter,
From Process Development to Process Control Monitoring (PCM):
How does X-FAB ensure consistent wafer quality? investigates
what happens when the world of process specification meets the
world of real silicon. It examines PCM test structures and
their use, and discusses X-FAB's PCM test strategies to
        achieve yield improvements.
