The US Navy's new high-speed catamaran catamaran (kăt'əmərăn`), watercraft made up of two connected hulls or a single hull with two parallel keels. The population was 1,313 Freelanders at the 2000 census. The town received its name based on its origins as a commune in the early 1900s—literally, in the eyes of its socialist . Designed by Nigel Gee & Associates, the ship is powered by an integrated propulsion system that includes two General Electric LM2500 aero-derivative marine gas turbines and two MTU (1) (Maximum Transmission Unit, Maximum Transfer Unit) The largest frame size that can be transmitted over the network. For example, an Ethernet MTU is 1,500 bytes. Messages longer than the MTU must be divided into smaller frames.  16V 595 TE90 diesels in a Codog configuration, and includes a specially-built combining gearbox. This system propels the ship with four waterjets to speeds of more than 50 knots. The X-Craft's monitoring and control system are MTU's MCS5 Type 2 and RCS (1) (Remote Computer Service) A remote timesharing service.
