Worldwide Television Sensation ``Desperate Housewives'' to Debut in China; The Golden Globe-Winning Series for Best Comedy Now Licensed to 203 Territories.

8, it was announced jointly today by Laurie Younger, president, Buena Vista Worldwide Television; Mark Pedowitz, president, Touchstone Television and executive vice president, ABC Entertainment ABC Entertainment is a network production company owned by The Walt Disney Company and ABC that created in 1982. It produced shows like America's Funniest Home Videos, America's Funniest People, and H.E.L.P..  Television Group; and Steve Macallister, senior vice president and managing director, Buena Vista International Television - Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP). In an agreement brokered by BVITV-AP and London based Zone Vision Networks, the hit series will be dubbed into Mandarin and will air as three back-to-back episodes per night, with the entire first season running in one week.

"As part of the company's continuing strategy to expand internationally, it's a privilege to bring the award-winning 'Desperate Housewives' to the great people of China. The series' addictive blend of dark comedy and gripping drama is sure to thrill audiences in China the same way it does in 202 other territories around the world," said Ms. Younger.

Parks & Resorts

    Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, the first-of-its-kind family resort

percent. Following early positive guest feedback, Hong Kong Disneyland

Media Networks

    Nearly 24 hours of Disney-branded programming is now available in
China every week, reaching 300-360 million people each month and
featuring programs such as "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and
"Kim Possible." Disney works closely with CCTV and other municipal and
provincial broadcasters, including free-to-air and cable providers, to
showcase Disney's branded programming blocks "Dragon Club," which
recently marked its 10th anniversary, and "Disney Adventures." In June
2005, TVB Pearl in Hong Kong began airing "Lost," which had a
record-breaking premiere and became the No. 1 drama series in the
channel's history.

    ESPN-branded content reaches an estimated 150 million+ homes in
China. ESPN introduced a Chinese-language version of ESPN The Magazine
with original content from the U.S. edition in October 2004. ESPN STAR
Sports (ESS), ESPN's joint venture with STAR has relationships with
over 30 cable affiliates in China for carriage of some or all of ESPN
programming, and ESS maintains espnstar.com.cn, a Mandarin-language
sports website. In September 2004, ESS launched ESPN Hong Kong and
Star Sports Hong Kong to serve Cantonese-speaking audiences.

    Disney's website in China (www.disney.com.cn) launched in August
2001 with internet service provider Sohu. The site has nearly 75
million registered users. Disney Mobile first launched in Hong Kong in
2001 and offers a variety of mobile content for major wireless
services.

Consumer Products

    Among its major U.S. competitors, Disney has the widest and most
successful retail presence in China. Our business in China has grown
tenfold in the last five years, aided by the introduction of a varied
publishing portfolio and the ever-growing popularity of Disney
characters, as well as the adaptation and localization of creative
content to make it more relevant and suitable for the local market. In
the last 12 years, Disney Consumer Products has expanded its retail
presence to more than 25 cities, with 1,600 Disney corners throughout
China selling Disney-branded merchandise.

    Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) currently sells 12 million
magazines and 2.7 million books in China, making DPW the leading
foreign publisher. Mickey Mouse magazine (launched in 1994) continues
to be the leading children's magazine in China with 350,000
copies/issue and 1.750 million readership. Disney's books and
magazines are distributed in more than 25,000 retail outlets and 5,000
schools.

Studio Entertainment

    Buena Vista International, Inc. (BVI), the international
theatrical distribution arm of The Walt Disney Studios, announced in
December 2005 that it has entered into a co-production agreement with
Centro Digital Pictures Ltd. of Hong Kong and The China Film Group
Corporation for the production of "The Secret of the Magic Gourd,"
which began principal photography in Hangzhou, China in October 2005.
The film is an adaptation of a beloved Chinese novel written by one of
the most celebrated authors of children's literature in China, the
late Zhang Tian Yi. It also marks The Walt Disney Studios' first
entrance into a co-production project in China.

    Since "The Lion King" in 1995, 19 Disney distributed movies have
been released in China, including "Toy Story," "Mulan" and "Finding
Nemo." Disney has released more than 330 VCD titles and 120 DVD titles
since 1998, which are available in 8,500 retail outlets. In 2005 there
were 28 Disney On Ice shows in three cities in China, and in 2006 it
plans to expand to six cities.
