Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers

DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 2001

America Online See AOL. , Inc., the world's leading interactive services company, today announced that the worldwide membership of its AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  service last week surpassed 32 million.

Helping to drive this membership growth is AOL 7.0, the new version of the service launched last month. AOL members already have downloaded AOL 7.0 more than 7 million times -- marking the fastest adoption rate of any new version. AOL 7.0 integrates local programming into every part of the service, provides easy access to high-speed audio and video content, and introduces breakthrough music and entertainment features like the popular Radio@AOL.

With these new features, AOL 7.0 also has contributed to strong usage of the service with the average AOL member spending nearly 70 minutes online daily. In addition, AOL online shopping continues to experience strong momentum, with AOL members increasing their online spending 80% in October over the same month last year to $2.7 billion, taking advantage of Shop@AOL's new convenience, selection and services.

Barry Schuler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of America Online, said: "We're pleased with our membership growth and the increasing daily usage of the service. The record adoption rate of our new version AOL 7.0 underscores the unmatched value that AOL delivers. This all means that our members are spending more time online and getting more out of their online experience -- from holiday shopping and local guides to listening to music online and staying connected with friends."

So far this fall, the Company has rolled out AOL High-Speed broadband service to consumers in 18 of Time Warner Cable's largest markets, with a total of 20 scheduled by year's end. Filling out its national footprint, the AOL High-Speed service is also available through DSL DSL
