E-Mail Security Breaches and Policy Violations

Worldtalk(R) Corp. (Nasdaq:WTLK) today announced immediate availability of its E-mail Surveillance Program (ESP (1) (Enhanced Service Provider) An organization that adds value to basic telephone service by offering such features as call-forwarding, call-detailing and protocol conversion. ), the industry's first security assessment solution focused solely on e-mail.

ESP is aimed at assisting organizations in the detection of security breaches and vulnerabilities to their e-mail networks such as viruses, SPAMs, e-mail bombs and exchange of unprotected proprietary information over the Internet.

ESP also allows organizations to assess violations of corporate e-mail usage policies, such as the exchange of potentially offensive e-mail, large video files and sexually explicit material Sexually explicit material (video, photography, creative writing) presents sexual content without deliberately obscuring or censoring it. The term sexually explicit media is often used as euphemism for pornography. . ESP is available through Security Force, Worldtalk's professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  organization and certified Worldtalk Authorized Reseller Program (WARP) partners.

"E-mail constitutes over 70% of all network traffic and is a leading cause of major security breaches. In fact, most organizations are unaware that they are losing intellectual property due to e-mail," said Ari Newman, Worldtalk's product manager for ESP.

"ESP is a market education program. We designed the service offering to help organizations quantify their exposure and measure the risks associated with Internet e-mail. ESP will help identify the appropriate countermeasures and security solutions."

ESP is based on Worldtalk's award-winning WorldSecure(TM) Server and quickly and easily identifies e-mail security weaknesses and policy violations. Its ability to analyze risks, including the number of e-mail attacks, misuse of resources, bandwidth-intensive messages and sensitive document disclosures, within a specified period of time makes it an ideal service offering for companies that have a need to assess the robustness of their e-mail networks.

State-of-the-Art Reporting

ESP offers comprehensive reporting capabilities to help network administrators easily communicate security posture information to different levels within an organization. ESP generates detailed reports designed to help organizations improve the efficiency of their overall e-mail network.

This includes analysis of the number of viruses and SPAM mail received per day, the number of messages sent to and from business partners and competitors, encryption and signed message analysis, among others. It also has the ability to distinguish between business and non-business-related e-mails entering and leaving the organization.
