WorldGate Completes Channel Hyperlinking Agreements With More Than 60 Television Networks; Industry-Wide Platform Support Follows Successful St. Louis Commerical Launch.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1998--WorldGate Communications' Internet for the masses over cable TV platform received a large show of support from the television industry Tuesday as the company announced that more than 30 new television networks will become WorldGate affiliates, implementing the Channel HyperLinking open platform, WorldGate's Internet TV (1) Watching TV programs on or from the Internet. There are countless video clips available on Web sites for streaming as well as subscription services that offer TV programs and movies for downloading.  Over Cable solution for instant linking between television and World Wide Web pages.

In December 1997, WorldGate announced its charter group of 31 network partners. Tuesday morning's announcement brings the total to more than 60 Channel HyperLinking Partners representing nearly all of the television programming industry.

The new group of partners who have agreed to develop Internet content for television and provide link information for the WorldGate Service is added to an existing group of major networks.
