World nurse count declining--WHO. (Health).


GENEVA -- The World Health Organization is launching a new strategy to help countries recruit RECRUIT. A newly made soldier.  and train nurses and midwives.

The WHO cited studies indicating nurses and midwives' numbers are declining--and that it is hard to recruit candidates into the two professions--because of low pay, hazardous conditions, a lack of career prospects and a lack of recognition and autonomy autonomy (ôtŏn`əmē) [Gr.,=self-rule], in a political sense, limited self-government, short of independence, of a political state or, more frequently, of a subdivision. .

The agency's new strategy focuses on human resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  planning and capacity-building, personnel management, evidence-based practice, education and stewardship stewardship

the occupation of being a steward or custodian. Referring to animals it implies the caring sort of relationship based on an acceptance of the need to include the rights of animals in overall plans to maintain financial viability.
