Addy's musical background is a combination of the rigorous standards of ritual music he learned from his father, a Wonche priest, and the flashy international pop music he performed as a young professional with big bands in Accra, Ghana. Now living in Portland, he has created two colorful professional ensembles, Okropong and Kukrudu, each expressing one of the two closely related sides of his musical personality: traditional and popular. Festival of Bands Saturday Autzen Stadium Twenty-four of the Northwest's top high school marching bands will fill Autzen Stadium, 2700 Martin Luther King Blvd., for the 28th annual Festival of Bands, one of the largest marching band competitions in the Northwest.
