Garcilaso de la Vega, (b. Gómez Suárez de Figueroa, c. 1539 in Cuzco, Peru, d. 1616) was an illustrious Peruvian poet and acclaimed writer who is recognized primarily for his contibutions to Inca history, culture, and society.
