Workplace skills study launched.An assessment of workforce skills and gaps in the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District is underway by a development group led by Sault College. The college, together with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Destiny Sault Ste. Marie and the three area community development corporations of Sault Ste. Marie, Superior East and East Algoma, plan to develop a community training and recruitment strategy. The college has hired Glyn Heatley to co-ordinate ordinate /or·di·nate/ (or´di-nat) the vertical line in a graph along which is plotted one of two sets of factors considered in the study. Symbol y. or·di·nate (ôr dn- project priorities and submit a trends and opportunities report to the province by late September. The initiative will focus on future training issues for the area.
