Series of assembled stringlights are the only stringlights of its kind to meet the new UL([R])certification requirements.

The new UL requirements call for all parts of temporary stringlights to comply with outdoor ratings and UV testing. Due to this specification change, #14 gauge flat cables no longer meets the performance requirements of hard wire usage and cannot be used on temporary lighting strings. Products manufactured before March 1st 2007 will carry the UL Mark, even though they no longer meet the requirements. As of March 1st, the only assembled stringlights, that will continue carrying the UL Mark, are Woodhead's 302SRL Series. Additionally, all Woodhead stringlights are NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.

 compliant.

The 302SRL series of stringlights use #12 gauge cable, which is rated for Extra Hard Usage as defined by NEC and has been evaluated by UL to meet all new and existing performance requirements. The #12 cable is also CUL Listed and CSA (1) (Canadian Standards Association, Toronto, Ontario, www.csa.ca) A standards-defining organization founded in 1919. It is involved in many industries, including electronics, communications and information technology.  Certified See certification. . One key advantage to using #12 gauge wire over the #14 gauge is that the heavier wire can carry more current, allowing stringlights to run further from a power source and light more area than #14 gauge stringlights.

"UL is the leader in safety testing for lighting and electrical products. We are pleased that our product continues to meet their high standards," said Scott Hagen, Product Manager. "Woodhead customers can always be confident that our products are not only of superior quality and durability, but are the safest of their kind."

Woodhead's Pro-Yellow[TM] 302SRL Series of assembled stringlights combine a feature rich design with economical pricing.
