Seoul Seoul (sā`l, sā`l, sōl), city (1995 pop. 10,229,262), capital of South Korea, NW South Korea, on the Han River.

a. To invest with ministerial or priestly authority; confer holy orders on.

b. To authorize as a rabbi.

2.
 in May at a service in Sts. Mary and Nicholas Anglican Cathedral. At the same service, a brother and sister were ordained deacons.

Bishop Matthew Chung, of the diocese of Seoul, presided over the two-hour service, which included nearly 100 priests and deacons and 1,000 congregants.
