Women go the distance in WWE headquarters build out.

ACC Construction recently teamed up with two woman-owned businesses to complete World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) new 6,500 s/f New York headquarters at 780 Third Avenue.

Michele Medaglia, president and CEO of ACC Construction, a leading New York WBE construction management and general contracting firm, made the announcement.

What sets this project apart is that the primary companies involved, while focused on significantly different aspects of real estate, are all certified woman-owned businesses.

Jodi Pulice, founder and president of JRT Realty Group, the nation's largest woman-owned commercial real estate firm, and the exclusive leasing and management agent for the building, negotiated the lease agreement on behalf of WWE.

Spacesmith, formerly Harris Smith Design, founded and managed by Jane Smith, AIA, was the architectural design firm for the space, while ACC Construction, headed by Michele Medaglia, built out WWE's brand new, 11th floor offices.

ACC Construction, Spacesmith and JRT Realty Group are certified by WBENC, a prestigious national designation through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.

"All three of us were extremely thrilled with the outcome, and were equally happy to be working with each other on this project," said Medaglia.

The office build-out entailed substantial millwork, HVAC, full mechanical, electrical and carpeting installation. In addition to the build-out of offices, conference rooms and office lobby, the ACC team coordinated with audio/ visual engineers in the installation of a state-of-the-art media room.

According to the architect, "Spacesmith's architectural design intent was to transition the outwardly bold and vivid design of WWE's former space into a more timeless and sophisticated appeal to reflect the transformation of the firm's corporate image."

The new design emphasizes WWE's iconic excitement and energy, and includes a greater use of shared offices and modular furniture systems for flexibility in future planning.

Award-winning 780 Third Avenue is often referred to as a "Park Avenue presence on Third Avenue."

The 570-foot, 50-story Class-A office tower is owned by TIAA-CREF, the national financial services organization. Building amenities include a 154-seat business conference center, concierge services, restaurant dining and the latest in business communications technology.

"The project was a complete success, and all three firms working so well together enabled ACC to complete the renovation ahead of schedule," added Medaglia.
