Women Builders lobby Congress.


The Women Builders Council, Inc., a newly formed advocacy group promoting the concerns of women business enterprises in the building sector, lobbied Congress last week on behalf of its members.

 aims to create a powerful lobby for women business owners Many online and offline organizations have been created to collect information about businesses around the world owned and operated by women. Many other organizations have been created to assist the women that own and operate those businesses.  in New York State's building and construction industry through advocacy, education and technical assistance initiatives.

One of the WBC's main focuses will be on influencing legislation affecting women business enterprises through regular lobbying of key policy makers in Washington, DC, Albany, and New York City New York City: see New York, city.

Major campaigning issues will be to increase procurement opportunities for WBE's, to give greater recognition of the capabilities of emerging firms, to ensure fair and reasonable fees and proper payment from government contracting agencies and to elect an Ombudsman for WBE's at city, state and federal levels to monitor public contracts awarded to them.
