"Reg FD is here to stay," said Humphries, urging the audience to learn how to manage the process. She said BellSouth is now reporting via Webcast conference calls and press releases. "We have to be careful what we say," she said, and described some changes the company has instituted for dealing with analysts and institutional investors Institutional Investor A non-bank person or organization that trades securities in large enough share quantities or dollar amounts that they qualify for preferential treatment and lower commissions. . She distributed a list of "Ten Tips to Help Disclosure" from Investor Relations Quarterly Volume 4, Number 1. Among the tips: Develop a written disclosure policy that encompasses company practices; limit the number of authorized spokespersons; and conduct pre-briefings with company officials prior to analyst/investor meetings and script presentations.
